The Core GK Academy will begin 2nd week in June and there will be a couple of different programs running throughout the Summer Break for goalkeepers of all ages, levels and programs specifically designed for the Individual Goalkeeper to choose what he or she feels they need to work on. Core Soccer Academy was founded by Craig Deacon in 2002 as a soccer academy which allows Boys and Girls the opportunity to train all year round in various programs. Core Soccer follows a training curriculum development program. Core Soccer training programs are designed so each individual can learn technical skill, skill moves, the fundamentals of receiving, turning, passing, shooting, defending, attacking and the true finesse of the game.
When Craig first came to Fort Collins, he realized there was a need for extra supplementary training for local players and teams. So in September 2002, he started training small skill groups consisting of 4 & 5 players with an emphasis on teaching them the basic CORE fundamentals of the game. After this fall program, Craig ran two local indoor teams that represented Core. These two teams proved to be very successful.
